‘Intrusion’

Read the first couple of pages.

Home. Safe. Not always.

The late-night argument between Hugo and Erica is cut short when she hear sounds coming from somewhere in the apartment.

She persuades Hugo to go investigate and he finds the apartment empty. But as he is returning to the bedroom, Hugo goes quiet.

Erica calls to him, laughs at him, screams at him. Nothing.

Is Hugo teasing her? Is he being vindictive and playing to Erica’s fears? Or worst of all, does his silence mean that there is something to be afraid of?
